It all began with my “basement experience.”  After living in Honduras for 19 years, raising a family, building our dream home and creating a successful boutique hotel and apartment building …… it all started to fall apart.

I had accomplished a lot of what I thought would make me happy and successful but I still had this emptiness. I thought I would feel complete and everything would be smooth sailing after arriving to this point. Well that didn’t quite work out and after a series of life changing events we moved back to the U.S. We left all of the material possessions that we had worked to accumulate in almost twenty years and came back with two suitcases each. Out of necessity we lived with my brother in his basement.  It was the best thing that could have ever happened to our family.

Our basement experience helped us re connect as a couple and as a family. We realigned our priorities and our focus and did everything together. I pursued money very hard in those earlier years and my family paid the price of my ambition. When I found the Infinite Banking Concept in May of 2011, through Nelson R. Nash’s book, I was finally ready to listen and make a change. We had about $750,000 in business debt and I really wanted to do something different than working harder and longer hours to get out of debt. Through IBC not only did we get out of debt on our business but now have a robust family banking system with 13 policies. We use our policies for cash flow management, opportunity fund, emergency fund and just plain life expenses. Since starting our first policies in 2012 we have self-financed rental properties in Florida, land deals, hard money lending and other opportunities that come our way. IBC has changed how we live our lives and how we view debt.
